1. Departure through Central Greece — Travel northwest from Athens through the Boeotian plain and the mountains of central Greece — a landscape that transitions from olive groves and vineyards to dramatic gorges and towering rock formations.
2. Kalambaka Town — The gateway to Meteora, this charming town sits directly beneath the rock formations. Enjoy a brief stop to take in the extraordinary scale of the pillars rising from the valley floor before ascending to the monasteries.
3. Monasteries of Meteora — Six Eastern Orthodox monasteries, built between the 14th and 16th centuries, perch atop natural sandstone pillars rising up to 400 metres from the valley. Originally accessible only by rope ladders and nets, they are now a UNESCO World Heri
